Global Responsibilities

At The Frog we believe that global welfare is the responsibility of all individuals. In 2000, The Pickled Frog was the first to promote waste recycling in hostels in Tasmania, and now we're lifting the bar again. To do our bit we contribute thousands of dollars and hours of time to the following:

A Carbon Neutral Frog

The Pickled Frog has no carbon footprint. While we investigate ways (and save some pennies) to produce our own energy sustainably, we are planting hundreds of indigenous trees appropriate to the areas they are planted in to offset our carbon production.

Tong-Len

We live in a very wealthy country with more opportunity than you can point a big black dog at. Others don’t have it that easy. The Pickled Frog contributes thousands of dollars a year to help the poorest kids in India to eat, get an education and have a roof over their heads, to help break the poverty cycle for a few at least.

Tasmanian Wilderness Society

The Frog is a regular contributor to this organisation that helps to save our old growth forests in the face of greed, stupidity and mismanagement. Sustainability has been defined. Old growth forests are unique ecosystems. Pulling them down is an unsustainable practice. TWS do a fantastic job highlighting the issues and tackling Forestry Tasmania on their mismanagement of our old growth forests.

Devils@ Cradle

Our infamous Tasmanian Devils are dying out. Money is needed to save those that are left and pay for research to stop this disaster. The Pickled Frog proudly sponsors ProfessorBlackburn". Drop into the Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary at Cradle Mountain and say Hi to the little, ugly, smelly, noisy, bitey, fella.
